Wedding Kiss at Sequoia

Can I have both my wedding and reception at Sequoia?

Yes! Many brides take advantage of Sequoia's convenience and romantic ambiance. With several ceremony settings and options and capacity for 200 guests, and with on-site food and beverage services, our planners can make recommendations to help you come to the perfect solution for all the events on your once-in-a-lifetime day. We also do rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, and bachelorette parties—all for the bride wanting specialized quality party details that fit her unique style.

What ceremony options are available?

Almost any setting you might desire. Our patio, with its stone pavers carries an intimate garden feel under the canopy of a giant sequoia tree. For a little larger guest list, a second sequoia tree provides a spectacular backdrop on Sequoia's front lawn---a favorite ceremony location. Here the bride can make a stunning entrance via a horse and carriage down the circular drive.

If you prefer a chapel-like atmosphere, Sequoia's Victoria Hall becomes the perfect sanctuary. The Empire Ballroom, with a large seating capacity, provides a raised stage for visibility from every seat in the room. Beautiful draperies, flowers, lighting and large-scale decor details add drama and fantasy to the ceremony.

For simple elegance, a table-side ceremony is the perfect high-point to a sumptuous wedding banquet.

And for the reception?

As with the ceremony, Sequoia provides every amenity and size of space to suit your party of 12 to 200. The Empire Ballroom is perfect for mid-size to large parties and includes an optional wood dance floor. It has a stage for a live band. Our chef's kitchen and full bar specialize in providing gourmet food and drink. Our staff is trained to give quality service to your guests. We also have free valet parking.

What is the time frame for rented rooms?

Each space may be rented for a 5-hour time block. But you may arrive as early as needed to decorate or to dress at no charge.

Can I use outside vendors and services?

At Sequoia, the answer is yes—except of course for food and liquor. Our planners have wedding vendors and services available for you and we have recommendations from years of experience. We offer complete planning and coordinating services. But you are welcome to use outside sources for your big day, being careful to coordinate with our staff.

What about The Cake?

We make recommendations for bakeries that do wedding cakes. There is a nominal plating fee for serving your cake.

Beverages?

Sequoia provides an excellent wine and champagne list for your choosing and a complete bar—water, soda, juices and specialty drinks, also. You may bring your own wine, if you prefer, but not hard liquor. There is a corkage fee.

Does Sequoia cater outside weddings and receptions?

Absolutely. We have years of catering experience, in and out of doors. Sequoia has catered wedding events as far away as Italy!

How do I reserve my wedding date and what are the payment arrangements?

Talk to us as soon as you've chosen your date to see if it's open. If so, you can lock it in with a deposit. Nothing more is due until the day of your wedding or reception.

If your date is not open, talk with us anyway. Through flexibility in using our staff and available rooms, we may be able to accomodate you. Or we may help you find cost and convenience incentives for choosing a day earlier or later.

Note: Our online calendar at this website, does not include wedding and reception bookings until a month or so ahead of time. You will need to call us to book your Big Event. Or email us, and we'll call you.

I'm on a budget, what recommendations can you give me?

Contact our event planners right away. They will work with you in exploring cost-saving ideas that won't crimp your style. You may be able to schedule your wedding in between other events to save costs or at a time the staff is already working. Weddings during the week are less expensive than on weekends. We'll help you create your own food and bar package to match your budget. If you choose, at Sequoia you are able to do your own decorating, bring your own flowers, use outside vendors if you have found good deals.

What about photography settings?

Sequoia is a romantic Victorian mansion with a variety of settings for your wedding photographs. Inside, are beautifully decorated rooms and niches, fireplaces, leaded windows. Plenty of space makes for easy photographer setup. We have a variety of draperies, flower pedestals, arches, etc. for creating the perfect look. Outside is the stone-paved patio, green gardens, giant trees, lawn, white railed stairways. Your photographer will find plenty of backgrounds for composing perfect shots of you, your groom plus family and friends.

Can I dress at Sequoia?

Molly's Room is just for you and is included in the price when you rent one of Sequoia's spaces for your wedding. This sweetly antique-furnished bride's retreat is private and for a small added cost comes with a selection of fruit, crackers, finger foods and drinks. For an added rental fee, you can also reserve a Groom's Room or a room for your bride's maids.

Is there a children's room?

Yes, you may rent a children's room to care for little ones during your ceremony.
