Guys, listen up. You know you want to ask her, but you’ve put it off because you want to pop that all-important question in a really memorable way. Asking your girl to marry you is one thing every man wants to get right.
Most women don’t prefer a public proposal. They want the special moment to be sweetly romantic and just between the two of you.
No pressure, man! At Sequoia, we have the plan for the perfect proposal, and we’re offering 20% off when you pop the question at Sequoia between December 1, 2009 and Valentines Day, 2010.
Here's your step-by-step guide to The Perfect Proposal
1. As soon as you’ve decided on a date, call us and book a private dining room for two. (That’s where the 20% discount comes in.) Ask for Molly’s Room. It’s upstairs, warm, private and furnished with Victorian antiques. But, here's the real thing about Molly's Room: it's the room brides get dressed in on their wedding day. If you two get married at Sequoia, she'll be putting on her wedding dress in the same room you two got engaged.
2. A few days ahead, nonchalantly tell your girlfriend you’ve been wanting to go to dinner at Sequoia and that you’ve made reservations for (insert day) at (insert time).
3. Secretly arrange with a florist to deliver bouquets of roses—or your girlfriend’s favorite flowers—to Sequoia on that day. (Or bring them by yourself to save delivery fees.)
4. We’ll set up Molly’s Room with the flowers, soft lighting and music (give us a CD mix of her favorite love songs to really rack up points) and a beautifully set table for two with linen, crystal, china and candles.
5. That evening, you’ll happen to be wearing something other than your usual t-shirt and jeans.
6. Don’t forget the ring.
7. The two of you arrive at Sequoia and we’ll ask if the two of you would like to dine at a private table upstairs. You say, “Sure!” and the hostess leads you up.
8. The magic moment when your girlfriend walks through the door into Molly’s Room and realizes something’s up.
9. Your personal waiter arrives to take your order and then serves the two of you a lavish dinner of your choice.
10. When the moment is right, you do your thing.
11. Options: chilled champagne; surprise engagement ring delivered on specially prepared dessert plate; friends or family arriving in secret to be ushered in afterwards for surprise celebration (if you’re certain she’ll say yes...); professional photographer (or friend with a good camera) to take the photos that your new fiancé will use to brag about you and share the amazing experience with her friends.
If this plan sounds like it might be for you, call soon to discuss the details with our Romance Coordinator, Tawnia Ceo. (She probably doesn’t know your girlfriend, but if she does, she’s great at keeping secrets.)
For a few hundred dollars and that gleam in your eye as you pop the question, you’ll give the girl you love a thrill that will last the rest of your lives together. We’ll be honored to help make that happen at Sequoia!
